You-er Than You
2P!Germany x Reader
Drabble

Lutz sat on his bed with his head in his pale hands and tears flowing from his violet eyes.  He couldn't remember the last time he had cried, but it had certainly been months if not years since the last time salty droplets had graced his cheeks.  "God damn it!"  He shouted.  "Why the hell am I not good enough?  Why do they all fucking love him and not me?"  He asked the empty room , but it had no answer for the man who felt so utterly inferior to his mirror image, Ludwig, the 'perfect' German.

Though he wouldn't admit it Lutz was jealous of Ludwig, jealous of his sky blue eyes, his lack of scars, heck Lutz was even jealous of Ludwig's hair and body structure that were so similar to his own.  Even though he too was Germany he felt like Ludwig was more German than he could ever be.  He was stoic, strong and quite while Lutz was just an unusual perverted man. There was nothing special or stereotypical about him and he hated it.

Finished with his pity party the tall man dried his eyes and exited his room.  "I need a beer."  He muttered as he made his way towards the kitchen, but something stopped him, there, on the couch buried in blankets was the familiar for of his girlfriend, ______.  Her (h/l) (h/c) hair was spread out over her dark red pillowcase and her (e/c) orbs were focused on the television.

"I thought you were working today, _______."  He admitted and he walked the rest of the way into the kitchen.

"Oh, well, I was supposed to go in today, but I wasn't feeling well so I-"  You started, but you stopped abruptly when you noticed your boyfriends tear stained face.  "Lutz what's wrong?"  You asked.

He laughed, but you could tell it was just a forced laugh to prevent you from being concerned for him.  "I'm fine, Kätzchen."  The blond said as he grabbed a beer out of the fridge and opened it.

"No you're not."  You said with a frown.  "Look, Lutz, you can tell me what's wrong, it won't make you any less of a man."

Silence.

"Fine, I'll tell you."  Lutz finally said as he reluctantly took a seat on the couch across from you.

Over the next two hours your boyfriend told you all about his troubles, how he felt like he wasn't good enough to be Germany or even to be with you.  

You sat quietly, just listening and when he finished speaking you smiled and recited the words that had gotten you through so many hard days.  "Today you are you!  That is truer than true!  There is no one alive who is you-er than you!"  You announced cheerfully.

"What?"  Lutz questioned, a dumbfounded look on his face.

"Dr.  Seuss said it."  You said with a shrug.

"Well I know that, but I mean why?"  He asked.

"Why?  Because you're you Lutz, but you want to be Ludwig, you have to be you, so be you today be you because nobody else can."  You said.

Lutz then did something that surprised you, he burst out laughing.  "Mein Gott, Kätzchen, this is why I love you."  He said through his laughter.
